Advice for Road Runners: The adidas Women's Solarcontrol 2 are stability running shoes. They feature a protective, yet propulsive midsole construction. For this reason, we position them in our Connected Experience category.

Underfoot Feel

The Solarcontrol 2 midsole features a bottom layer of adidas' iconic BOOST cushioning. This means you should experience lots of protection at landing.

For more energy return and stability, a top-loaded EVA control platform sits on top of the BOOST cushioning. One of the images details this foam extending down the medial side of the midsole. This increases the support on offer and helps reduce greater ranges of pronation.

The pink sections of the midsole shows off the Linear Energy Push system. Otherwise known as LEP. This stiffer structure enhances energy return throughout the gait cycle and further aids the sensation of support.

Upper Fit

The adidas Solarcontrol 2 stability running shoes upper should feel supportive and secure. This is the result of a zoned engineered mesh construction. The upper also includes at least 50% recycled content.

Ideal Run Type

As the adidas Women's Solarcontrol running shoes offer a protective, yet responsive feel, we recommend using them for slower to steady miles. This makes them a great option for both easy miles, and days when you feel like injecting a bit more effort into your run.

For the avoidance of doubt, these are stability running shoes. As a result, they should suit runners who require additional support for greater ranges of pronation.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
